The australian player began the second and final day of the World Series Of Poker Europe Ladies Event leading the way, and she remained like that until the very end, winning the first WSOPE bracelet ever for a Ladies Event. In addition to the bracelet Jackie Glazier also received €21,850 in prize money.
The Casino Barrière d' Enghien-les- Bains, on the outskirts of Paris, was home to the first ever WSOPE Ladies Event. This €1,100 tournament counted with the participation of 65 players, being that only 8 made it through to Day 2. Although the final table was already set, it remained to be seen who would be the tournament bubble, as the prize pool accounted only for 7 winning places.
Seat 1 : Celine Bastian - 15,675
Seat 2 : Maryline Valente - 35.725
Seat 3 : Laurie Bismuth - 31.975
Seat 4 : Jackie Glazier - 57,400
Seat 5 : Anais Lerouge - 15,975
Seat 6 : Nathalie Odet - 9,150
Seat 7 : Gaelle Baumann - 4,500
Seat 8 : Sherrill Lindsey - 25.625
Glazier had, by far, the largest stack - she further increased her advantage by eliminating Anais Lerouge in 8th place. Already in a paid position, Gaelle Baumann was the first to be eliminated, losing with her 4c-4h against Laurie Bismuth's Ac-9c. A 9h on the flop did it for Baumann.
Next one out was Lindsey Sherrill, who lost with Kh-10s against Glazier's Ad-Jd. It only took 3 more hands after Lindsey's departure for another player to leave the table: Nathalie Odet was all-in after a Kc-6d-4c flop with Kh-Qs but, to her misfortune, Bismuth had Ac-Ad.
After Odet's departure, Glazier took charge of the game and sent home her remaining opponents. Celine Bastian got 4th place, Laurie Bismuth 3rd place and Maryline Valente was the 2nd placed player.
The 888Poker player went heads-up with 113,500 chips against Valente's 81,500. Heads-up play lasted for 30 hands and ended in this fashion:
Glazer opened with a raise to 2.500, Valente moves all-in (90.000) and Glazier instacalls. Glazier shows her Jh-Jc and Valente reveals her 6d-6s; when the board comes 4s-Ah-Qh-5d-7c, the WSOPE Ladies Event had found the winner.
In Glazier's own words, "I’ve always aspired to win a WSOP bracelet and to do it in the first Ladies Event in Europe is a real honor".
