A few days after the decision of the New Jersey's Court of Appeal, on the purchase agreement of the Atlantic Club Casino, a decision that went against the thoughts of Rational Group (who operates PokerStars), comes the announcement of the agreement between Rational Group and Resorts Casino Hotel.
Under this partnership the two companies intend to obtain a online gambling license in the state of New Jersey.
The Resorts Casino Hotel was the first legal casino to open outside the state of Nevada - it opened its doors in 1978 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
"This is another blue chip partner for Resorts to complete a wonderful series of brands — Mohegan Sun, Margaritaville and now PokerStars" said Morris Bailey, president of Resorts.
In a statement sent to the press, the CEO's of Rational Group (and PokerStars) himself - Mark Scheinberg - "Resorts is a fantastic partner for us and we are looking forward to launch PokerStars in the U.S. in association with the other quality brands Resorts has brought to Atlantic City. We are very happy to invest in New Jersey and we are excited about building a successful relationship with Resorts."
