Jungleman announces new deal for Durrrr Challenge

28 September 2025

Daniel "Jungleman" Cates, currently playing a tournament in Malta, told the PokerListings site that he and Tom "Durrrr" Dwan have established a new agreement, and hope to play "4,000 hands this month."

"I think that there's a good chance that we will play 4,000 hands this month. I feel, however, that I've said this a million times," said Cates. According to Jungleman, his opponent will have a good incentive (which he won't reveal) to reactivate the Durrrr Challenge.

It was Durrrr the one who requested for Jungleman to keep from disclosing the terms of the new agreement; still, Jungleman said that with "the agreement we have now I will make money - in one way or another."

Jungleman leaves a warning, though - if they don't play any hands in September, he will disclose the terms of the agreement.

Despite the constant postponements, Cates proved sympathetic towards Durrrr:

"He has many options. He can play good tables in Macau, against businessmen -  why would he want to play with me? I believe, however, that that goes against the spirit of the challenge. He knows it, and so he wants to do the right thing."
