The WSOP 2013 Main Event has started

The Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2013 (the tournament that everyone yearns to win) has began yesterday, at the end of the day. Greg Merson, the winner of the 2012 Main Event, was the player appointed to announce the Shuffle Up and Deal, and Merson was straight to the point: "I don't want to make a long speech because every year that I come to play, I hate to hear long speeches. Good luck to all of you... and dealers: Shuffle up and deal!"

Matthew Ashton gets 1st place at Poker Players Championship

Matthew Ashton is the latest champion of one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world - the Poker Players Championship. The 2013 edition had a total of 132 participants and it took 5 days to discover the champion, Matthew Ashton.

Phil "Unabomber" Laak is a player completely out of the ordinary - you just have to look at his nickname. He often surprises us with his eccentricities, but this one in particular is really something. Without thinking twice, Laak used a pair of binoculars to observe the stacks of players sitting at other tables, while playing an event of the World Series of Poker ® in the Amazon Room.

A few days after the decision of the New Jersey's Court of Appeal, on the purchase agreement of the Atlantic Club Casino, a decision that went against the thoughts of Rational Group (operating company PokerStars), comes the announcement of the agreement between Rational Group and Resorts Casino Hotel.

Bubble still to burst on Poker Player's Championship

Last night, Day 3 of Event # 55 ($50,000 Poker Players' Championship) was played. This tournament is reserved for the best, and there still are 26 players in play. The prize pool of $6,336,000 only has 16 places paid, so the bubble will only burst on Day 4. Still in play are David Benyamine, Huck Seed, Joe Hachem, George Danzer and Jonathan Duhamel.

Hungary approves gambling law; Bulgaria and Lebanon blacklist online rooms

The Hungarian Parliament approved, with 235 votes against 69, the new gambling law. The new legislation assumes the allocation of 5 years gambling licenses upon the payment of a fee of €340,245.97. At other latitudes, the governments of Bulgaria and Lebanon have ordered ISPs to block access to online gambling sites.

Full Tilt Poker brings back the Black Card

Full Tilt Poker regular players can now benefit from the Black Card rewards. The program was extinguished upon the purchase of Full Tilt Poker by PokerStars; it returns today, July 1, to reward the more regular players of the room.
