It was yesterday that the heads-up challenge between Doug "WCGRider" Polk and Ben "Sauce1234" Sulksy started, at Full Tilt Poker's tables.
The challenge consists of a heads-up dispute of 15,000 hands of $100/$200 NLHE, being that in the end the loser will have to pay the winner $100,000, (plus the money he has lost during the challenge).
After the first session the leadership of the challenge belongs to WCGRider - after 2,5000 hands he came out on top with a $227,000 profit .
Although both players had intended to play daily sessions of 3-4 hours, the kick-off was given with a 8 hours and 23 minutes session.
WCGRider was almost always ahead, and despite Sauce123 being able to sometimes reduce the difference, he managed to finish the session with considerable profit.
While Polk managed to score four pots bigger than $50,000, Sulksy only managed to get one.
In what was the biggest pot of the match ($93,804.19), Sulksy's KK and Polk's QQ were the decisive hands. When both players revealed their hands the board read Qh-4d-2c-7h-Jc and Polk collected the profit.
The match will continue on Wednesday, September 18, with a three-hour session.
