Things had been going rough for Gus Hansen, on Full Tilt Poker, and it seemed that nothing would improve his situation. Week after week his losses kept on increasing - he eventually reached $4,064,253 in losses in 2013.
Everything has taken an unexpected turn in the last few days: "The Great Dane" is no longer the high stakes player with the most annual losses, being that the title now belongs to "MalACEsia".
"The Great Dane" even got to be the day's biggest earner in the past week - when he decided to call it a day, he already had a profit of $280,000. He has increased his profits in the last three days to $530,000.
It can't all be bad, but a three-day winning streak has been a rare feat for Gus Hansen.
Once again, he was victorious yesterday in the two 2-7 Triple Draw sessions he played. The first one ended with a $78,700 profit - a profit that came right out of the pockets of Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, "Seb86" and "Kagome Kagome".
In the second session he faced off against Alex "Alexonmoon" Luneau and Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond and took another $176,900.
At the same time that Hansen recovers, Viktor Blom keeps on collapsing steadly. The young swede keeps losing the profits he made at the start of the year.
Is this only a mirage for Hansen, or will he actually climb back all the way to the top?
