After retiring from football, there are lot of things one can do. If some sport stars are associating to poker, some are associating to casinos in general.
David Beckham will now work with Las Vegas Sands Corp., promoting the company casinos in Asia, according to an Associated Press Article.
According to the deal, Beckham will promote the Las Vegas Sands properties in Macau (the hub of gambling) and Singapore. The Las Vegas Sands Corp. is property of the billionaire Sheldon Adelson, who is an opponent of online poker.
Gambling revenues in Macau, during the current year, surpassed the 40 billion mark, and Sheldon Adelson's company is the market leader. The company stated in a press release that it expects to leverage the Beckham brand to "aggressively explore opportunities to expand its present in the Asian market".
Japan is on the verge of legalizing casinos and, as such, might be the next Las Vegas Sands target, since the company is looking for new places to invest in after the failure of the EuroVegas project.
According to the Associated Press, Beckham already took some promotional pictures with children in the Macau and Singapore casinos.
Beckham is 38 years old and he is worth around 300 billion dollars - undoubtedly he will be a contributing factor for Macau's success.
