The first £50,000 Super High Roller in the history of the PokerStars EPT London will be finished later tonight, with the dispute of the final table . This final table will count with the presence of Martin Finger, Patrik Antonius, Johannes Strassmann, Bill Perkins, David Benefield, Christoph Vogelsang, Timothy Adams and Tobias Reinkemeier.
When Day 1 ended there were a total of 52 enrollments; but since players could register until the start of Day 2, the final number was 57 (41 players and 16 re-entries). The prize pool reached the value of £2,736,855, with 8 places paid .
The players who took advantage of the late registration were Viktor Blom , Patrik Antonius and Dhruvin Patel - these pros didn't participate in Day 1. Erik Seidel and Philipp Gruissem also took advantage of the late registration. The German Gruissem already had done 2 re-entries on Day 1 - he left this high-roller tournament with a £200,000 loss.
Day 2 lasted for more than 12 hours, and only ended when the bubble burst. This ungrateful position not only meant goodbye to the prizes, but also the farewell to the final table for Mike "Timex" McDonald . "Timex" left the high-roller with his Ac-Jc, losing a race against Strassmann's Th-Tc.
In the previous 12 hours, players like the Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Jonathan Duhamel, or the Full Tilt Poker Professional Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, Dan Smith, Richard Yong, Erik Seidel, Mike Watson, Sam Trickett, Fabian Quoss and Gruissem had all been eliminated.
Despite his late start on Day 2, Patrik Antonius managed to reach the final table (and a paid position, of course):
Martin Finger - 4,740,000
Johannes Strassmann - 2,215,000
Bill Perkins - 2,005,000
David Benefield - 1,315,000
Christoph Vogelsang - 1,215,000
Timothy Adams - 1,135,000
Tobias Reinkemeier - 845,000
Patrik Antonius - 745,000
Each of the eight finalists has already secured at least £109,455:
