Two of the most active players at the No Limit Hold'em tables on Full Tilt Poker agreed to a challenge of 15,000 hands, which they hope to finish in just one month. The 15,000 hands will be played at $100/$200 tables, and the loser will have to pay $100,000 to the winner (in addition, of course, to what he lost at the tables).
Ben 'Sauce123' Sulsky and Douglas 'WCGRider' Polk don't want the challenge to drag itself in time (like the Durrrr Challenge) and therefore wish to play the 15,000 hands within a maximum period of 1 month. The match will start next week.
According to Douglas Polk, in an interview he gave to QuadJacks:
"It’s going to be a 15,000-hand challenge, the stakes are going to be $100/$200, and there is going to be a $100K side-bet. I believe the first match will be scheduled, and then after that it’s going to run basically whenever we can pick a time that we can both play. But this isn’t going to be a durrrr Challenge. I think our deadline is mid-October, but I think we’re going to sign some kind of contract so that we can vet that kind of situation.
I’m probably going to be tweeting (@DougPolkPoker) before any of my matches, and I’m sure it will be well publicized. I think Full Tilt is going to be promoting it as well if we decide to do it over there."
Both players inspire the respect of their peers at the tables. Looks like this might be the start of an interesting (and exciting) heads-up battle between to top-notch players.
