PartyPoker has released its new online poker software - with it comes the promise of a new and unique experience for the player. Missions and achievements, as well as new social features have been added.
The new lobby has a nice clean look to it, but that's not the entire story. Party has also decided to add new features, the objective being adding a more social dynamic to online poker as we know it. Interaction and participation between players seems to be the key point.
Users will now be able to complete missions (such as playing a specific number of SNGs, for instance) and earn rewards for it (points, cash and tickets).
Players will also unlock achievement badges for completing certain actions (suffering a bad-beat, for instance), in the same vein of a variety of console games.
More on the social side, players will be able to build a list of friends, post statuses and defy other players.
Although the design looks solid, it remains to be seen if this new PartyPoker undertaking will be successful and pave the way for a new era of online poker.
