The Bicycle Casino in California was where the World Poker Tour Ladies Night took place, right after hosting the WPT Legends of Poker (of which Jordan Cristos was the winner). The tournament had a charitable cause at its heart, since the objective was to raise funds for donation to charities. Vanessa Rousso defeated her opponents and, eventually, emerged victorious.
This was the last tournament in which Kimberly Lansing participated as WPT hostess.
The WPT Ladies Night is a closed tournament, invite-only - this edition only had 6 participants. At stake was a $25,000 entry to the WPT Championship and $20,000 in cash for donation to charities chosen by the players, with all six players getting a slice of the prize pool.
In addition to Kimberly Lansing and Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso, the other female participants were Jessica Dawley, Lily Kiletto, Liz Liey and Sunny Chen (who qualified through a satellite).
Rousso didn't hold back and dominated the table completely, eliminating all of her 5 opponents. The last player to be crushed by Rousso was Jessica Dawley, who was out of chips when the blinds were in their 5th level.
Rousso mini-raised to 80k, Dawley reraised to 220k and Rousso retaliated with an all-in. After Dawley called, she revealed a Kc-6 and Rousso showed her Ah-Ks.
The board came 8c-7d-4-8s-A, and Dawley's fate was sealed; Vanessa Rousso was triumphant among her female adversaries.
