The largest online poker room in the world is only waiting to get an online gambling license in the State of New Jersey to proceed with the construction of a poker room at the Resorts Casino Hotel, in Atlantic City. The poker room has an estimated cost of $10 million.
The Resorts Casino Hotel was the company chosen by PokerStars for the partnership needed to apply for a online gambling license in New Jersey.
It was William J. Pascrel III (PokerStars spokesman) who announced the $10 million plan, speaking to the "Press of Atlantic City":
"As soon as the license is in hand, they’re ready to start building. PokerStars is committed to investing significant resources to put in a brand new poker room at Resorts Casino Hotel. In addition to the poker room, they are committed to driving traffic to Atlantic City through their marketing”.
Meanwhile, Eric Hollreiser (responsible for the communications department at the Rational Group - parent company of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker) has confirmed the accuracy of this information to the Pokerfuse website. According to him, more details of the project will be revealed "as soon as the plans are concluded."
Besides the new poker room, PokerStars will install its north-american headquarters in New Jersey, where the company will employ around 200 persons.
