Lim Yo-Hwan - a corean Elky?

11 December 2025

StarCraft player and coach, Lim Yo-Hwan (known by the handle BoxeR), decided to become a poker pro. As a StarCraft professional, Yo-Hwan was earning about $500,000 per year (in sponsorships and awards), and he hopes he will be even more successful at the poker tables - just like Elky.

French Team PokerStars Pro, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier, entered the gaming scene through StarCraft, where he got to be one of the best in the world ranking. In 2001 he left France and moved to South Korea, where computer gamers are real celebrities, and championships are followed by thousands of spectators.

With various victories in the biggest championships, Elky decided to pursue a career as a poker pro, where he could earn much more money. As we all know, this move was very, very sucessful.

Lim Yo-Hwan, who was nominated by MTV as one of the 10 most influential gamers in history, intends to promote an "healthy sports culture" in his new adventure at the poker tables.
