The scandal of Full Tilt Poker is in the cutting edge in recent days, and not just because of the recent interview that Howard Lederer gave to our fellow PokerNews.com.
To our knowledge through Pokerfuse.com, Nelson Burtnick, the payment processor of Full Tilt Poker (and before, from PokerStars) has recently confessed his guilt in the crimes with which he is charged in the case Black Friday.
As he he said on Wednesday before Judge Gabriel Gorenstein in New York:
"I had to do this sort of thing to get poker players to recharge their accounts again. I know what I did is wrong. "
He also admitted that he committed these crimes, both in his time at PokerStars, and later in FTP.
With this confession, Burtnick aims to soften the 15-year sentence that he’s facing. Given his background, and this confession, it’s possible to avoid his entry in prison.
Still, he will face a heavy fine, and obviously, waive any claim for his unpaid work period until the scandal broke. We'll have to wait until next December 19 to hear the final verdict.
For its part, the defense attorney, declined to comment regarding these latest developments.
